I was born in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. My family immigrated to the United States where I obtained my B. S. in Education and M. Ed. In Bilingual Multicultural Education from Northern Arizona University. Throughout my career as a teacher and administrator I have always enjoyed working with ESL students and training faculty and staff in ESL best practices. I spent over 20 years working in the ESL field. I am currently a Ph. D. candidate in Higher Education here at the University of Arizona. I’m proud to join CESL and continue the mission of teaching English as a Second Language to promote diversity and multicultural awareness.
