I have been an English as a Foreign/Second Language (EFL/ESL) teacher since I was 20 years old and completed my first Master’s in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) at Ural State Pedagogical University, Russia. I taught EFL in Russia and Germany, and since 1999, I have been teaching ESL rather successfully in the US. In addition, I hold a PhD in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching (SLAT) from the University of Arizona. I am engaged in current research on learning and teaching online and curriculum/program/ESP design for online courses. Currently, I am doing ESL/EFL teacher training, and teaching ESL at the Center for English as a Second Language. Check out my books Just Speak Up – 1, 2, and 3!
