CESL Endorsement and UA Conditional Admission Academically qualified students may apply directly to the University of Arizona for Conditional Admission. The University will review their applications for academic admissibility and give students an academic admission conditioned on completion of the university's English TOEFL Requirement. Currently-enrolled CESL students, who meet the CESL criteria below, may request a CESL English language Endorsement in place of the TOEFL. The CESL English Language Endorsement is offered to currently enrolled, full-time CESL students, in good standing, who have completed at least one full, 8-week session with us. The endorsement is valid for one year from the date of issuance. Once you receive endorsement, you must transfer and begin an academic program immediately. If your program does not begin immediately, we will complete your CESL program, and you must return home and reenter the USA with a new I-20 from the UA. |

Both the Graduate Council and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions have included a new category of conditional international admission. Admission procedures and requirements remain the same. However, now a department can recommend a student for conditional admission if the student meets all its admission requirements except for the minimum English requirement. Students who plan to pursue academic studies at the University of Arizona must complete an application to the University. If their funding depends on conditional university admission, students must complete the application process before applying to CESL and include the letter of conditional admission with the CESL application. The University has multiple admissions offices and applications. Be sure to complete the correct application process. Admission to CESL does not guarantee admission to the University of Arizona. Students who are conditionally admitted to the University of Arizona must meet the English language requirement for admission either with the required TOEFL score or by CESL endorsement. Undergraduate Admissions Please note: Graduate Admission to the university, even conditional admission, is a lengthy process. For most departments there is a two-sided application process: The Graduate College application and the Departmental application. Both applications must be complete and usually require original transcripts, letters of recommendation, statements of purpose, and a GRE or GMAT score. Plan on completing the application process about one year before you would like to begin academic study. Some UA Graduate Programs do not grant Conditional Admission or review incomplete applications. In Summary
* If you do not need university conditional admission for funding or visa, you may apply to CESL at any time. |
