As a storyteller I’ve always known the importance of motivation for teaching and learning.  After a teaching career of more than 20 years, in places such as Texas, Japan, Florida, the Navajo Reservation and Tucson, it is an honor to serve both students and teachers in my current position at CESL. Computer labs, library, curriculum, textbooks, tech equipment, supporting faculty, and supervising library and lab personnel are some of the things that keep me busy and make my days fly by.

Greetings! I’m one of CESL’s new teachers but no stranger to the ESL scene. Born and raised Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I have an extensive knowledge of fine cheeses and watery beers. It was in Madison, Wisconsin that I began teaching ESL. In Japan, I spent a number of years teaching English, climbing mountains, and running marathons (sometimes all three at the same time!). I also have experience teaching English Composition at the university level, so if you ever have a question about college-level writing, don’t be afraid to ask. In fact, don’t be afraid to come in and visit for any reason. I’m one of CESL’s photographers, so if you see me in the hall with a camera you could end up in a picture board or publication. I look forward to getting to know all about you and the cultures you come from. See you in class!
