Eligibility
All programs at the Center for English as a Second Language meet high standards of excellence, as CESL has been fully accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation. We invite you to learn more about our high-quality programs, which include:

Conditional Admission to The University of Arizona & CESL Endorsement

Please note: Admission to CESL's intensive English program does not guarantee admission to the University of Arizona.  Students who are conditionally admitted to the University of Arizona must meet the English language requirement for admission either with the required TOEFL or IELTS score or by CESL endorsement.  http://www.cesl.arizona.edu/endorsement.htm

Admission requirements. All applicants for the CESL English program must

  1. Be at least 18 years old or a high school graduate. The Teen English Program in July is open to ages 13-17.
  2. Be literate in their first language
  3. Have completed high school or its equivalent
  4. Submissioin of fraudulent documents may delay or cancel I-20 processing.

In Addition

  1. International students in the full-time IEP Intensive English Program (22 hours a week) must enter the USA with an F-1 student visa.
  2. Applicants for the F-1 student visa must demonstrate ability to meet the financial obligations of their program
  3. Part-time students are limited to 11.5 hours per week.
  4. All students studying on the University of Arizona campus or its locations, must provide proof of measles and rubella immunization or medical exception.
  5. Students applying through Apply ESL are required to pay an additional $60.00 mailing fee as well as complete the entire Full-time CESL application.
  6. Part-time students who apply for full-time study are required to re-take the Placement Exam before enrolling in full-time study.

Seats may be unavailable in a particular course or program.
