Testimonials |
| Eric | I originally took a TEFL course this spring through CESL as a back-up option in case other job applications fizzled out (and as a fast way to see if teaching would be a good fit). It really did not hit me though how in demand English knowledge was though until meeting and getting practice teaching CESL International students (Kuwaitis, Chinese, Koreans, Saudis, Swiss, etc.). For all that you may think you do not know English, your students make up for this by being so appreciative and eager to learn anything you can teach them-- and you know more than you think. |
| Catherine | My dream has always been to accompany my daughter on an extended visit to China. Teaching has always been my passion and so combining the dream and the passion came in the form of the magnificent TEFL program. The course material was excellent containing an abundance of material which could be easily used in the classroom. It was structured so that you create "real" lesson plans and synthesize what you learn in the quizzes- all the while being guided by an incredibly supportive staff. When applying for jobs in China, I was amazed at the weight that a TEFL teaching certificate from the University of Arizona carried. I received an excellent offer within a week and am soon on my way to a beautiful city in China with my daughter. Thank you for allowing me to change my dream into a reality. |
| Gail | I cannot recommend CESL's TEFL practicum enough – it is a must and a truly necessary component! The practicum adds a whole other dimension and allows for direct, one-on-one contact with CESL students and staff. My coursework was greatly enhanced by the guidance and encouragement of my assigned mentor. |
