Part-Time Certificate Programs

Certificates

Study in the evenings. Students who satisfactorily complete all required courses in a specified program will receive a Program Certificate.  Each class is 30 hours of in-class instruction with some outside activities, and upon satisfactory completion, students will receive a Certificate of Participation for that class.  Students who meet CESL admissibility requirements are eligible to participate in this program.

Eligibility and Amission

Professional English Program

To enter the Professional English Program, a student must complete CESL Intensive English Program level 50 or High Intermediate 1 or have the approval of the Program Coordinator.

Required Courses

  • High Intermediate 2
  • Advanced Business Case Studies:  Written Communications
  • Advanced Business Case Studies:  Oral Communications
  • Pronunciation

Academic English Program

To enter the Academic English Program, a student must complete CESL Intensive English Program level 50 or High Intermediate 1 or have the approval of the Program Coordinator.

Required Courses

  • Formal Presentations
  • Reading & Writing for Academic Purposes
  • Pronunciation
  • Conversation &  Discussion

 

Part-time study is open to students 17 years of age and older who are literate in their first language and who are currently in the United States, or who are Mexican commuter students with an F3 visa. Application

Costs vary by program. Discounts

All students born after 1956 must show proof of MMR immunization if they attend classes on the UA campus. Print the Proof of Immunization Form

Students on certain non-immigrant visas may study up to 11.5 hours per week as part time students.
